REMINDERS FOR OUR ZOO TRIP (Tuesday, July 1st. 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.) RAIN OR SHINE

REMINDERS FOR OUR ZOO TRIP (Tuesday, July 1st. 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.) RAIN OR SHINE!

- We are leaving from BRIDGEPORT  by school bus at 9:00 SHARP!! If your child is later than 9:00, you may drive them to the zoo yourself and pay their admission of $15.00 to join us if you wish.

-We plan to return to Bridgeport at 4:00 pm. Please be prompt in picking up your child!

-Children should wear only athletic shoes! No cloth shoes, no flip flops, no slip-ons, no heels, no open toes, etc. The zoo has a lot of hills and we will be doing a lot of walking.

-Camp shirts will be sent home with your children on Monday. They MUST wear their camp shirt on Tuesday so they are identifiable as part of our group!

-Children must bring their own lunch. Please pack their lunch in a plastic, disposable grocery bag labeled with their name! Please also label their disposable drink, as we will put drinks in a separate cooler. (it’ll be easier if the drink is dry and room temperature when you apply a tape label or write in Sharpie)

-Please put sunscreen on your child prior to bringing them to Bridgeport! We will be outside all day and children may sunburn! We would like to avoid this! Children may wear hats to protect them from the sun as well!

-We are not responsible for personal items brought along on the trip. We recommend money, cell phones, iPods, etc. be left at home. However, if you wish to send these items with your child, do so at your own risk! HAMS staff is not responsible for lost items!

-For safety’s sake, each child will be wearing a badge with the directors’ phone numbers on it, in the event they are separated from their groups. We also have a binder of each child’s photo and information, in addition to their emergency forms. We have 12 HAMS staff chaperones who will be supervising your children! No parent chaperones are needed, thanks.

-If you need to reach us while we’re at the zoo, in the event of an emergency, you may call one of the following people: Tari McKee (513) 265-3615, Meg Haven (513) 295-8845,  Cody Rush (513) 939-5522 or Chrissy Fox (513) 226-9049.

Thanks
      HAMS Staff

p.s. Beginning Wednesday, July 2nd (the day AFTER the zoo trip), camp will be at the High School (1165 Eaton Ave, Hamilton, OH 45013).

SAFETY NOTICE

Since Bridgeport is not fully staffed in the summer, there will be nobody here to supervise campers until the camp directors arrive.  We will post a pink sign on the glass entry doors to the school when we arrive, which is usually around 8:45.
To insure the safety of our HAMS campers, please do not allow your child to enter Bridgeport until the pink signs are posted.

Recroding Session Thursday 11:30-12:00

We are having problems hearing the chorus on "Under the Sea" and "Kiss the Girl", so we will be pre-recording the chorus parts for those songs tomorrow 11:30-12:00 to reinforce the sound. We can use any campers who know these songs-even those not in those not on stage for these songs. If your child can stay for this recording session tomorrow, please let us know by sending a note with your child tomorrow.  If we don't have your permission, your child will not stay. Thanks

Costumes, costumes, costumes...

If you have any fish hats or plush sea creatures that we can sew onto a hat and are willing to let us use them, please bring them in. We will return it unharmed.

We are in need of 6 princess dresses of various sizes. If you have one you think we could use, please bring it in and let us take a look at it. They can be generic princesses or ones such as Belle, Cinderella, etc.

Tuesday, June 18 Report

We have had a very successful first two days of rehearsals.  These kids have really worked hard.  Each child has "homework" tonight.  The chorus is to look at "Under the Sea" and practice their part...especially "the newt plays the flute..." part.  Those with speaking parts need to go through their scripts and speak their parts.  Those with solos and special songs should work on those as well.  CDs should be going home Friday.

A Word About Costumes

The camp shirt will be the base of the costume.

The bright colored t-shirt will go over top of the camp shirt, so be sure that it covers the camp shirt.  Remember- no blue or red.

The white shirt needs to be one that we can paint a large black letter or two (blood type) on.  It should be slightly larger-like a night shirt.

Remember the black shorts to finish out the costumes.  Gym shoes that are clean and in good shape or jazz shoes.  Short socks.

Circulation girls will wear their short sleeve or sleeveless leotard under everything.  Color doesn't matter as it will never show.
